Is It Racist?

(I lost mine...)

I have a new idea for a game show, where I would profile the headlines of the day's new and determine which stories fit the profile of racism.

It would be the feel-good show America needs in these trying times.

- To start things off I'd list the Sean Bell case, where a black man's car was shot 50 times by (possibly) drunk undercover officers and who claim they identified themselves and broke procedure by firing at a moving car.

Pretty clear cut mix of racism and stupidity.

- Then I'd step up the complexity a little with this story in L.A. where the fire chief had to resign because a black firefighter was fed dog food mixed with spaghetti.

I love claiming racism for everything but even I have doubts about this one.

The article says,

  • The firefighter who was fed the spaghetti claimed that it was racial discrimination and that he was harassed after reporting it. But other firefighters insisted it was an ordinary firehouse prank with no racist intent. A department investigation suggested the prank was prompted by the way firefighter Tennie Pierce called himself the "Big Dog" during a volleyball game.
It sounds like the dude was talking shit, got Punk'd and decided to cry racism.
A bitch move.

- In another instance, Arizona officials apologized after a white cop told two black men they could get out of a littering ticket by rapping.

The segment appeared on "Tempe StreetBeat," a program produced by police in the Phoenix suburb that followed several officers on patrol. It shows Sgt. Chuck Schoville pulling over two men in August in a mall parking lot.

Like most raps, theirs was horrible.

Peep their skills,

  • The two men agree, and each performs a short rap, laughing afterward. One says, "The dangers of littering, you will get a ticket. If you ain't wit' it, you better be experienced."

The second man raps, "Yo, I just got pulled over 'cause I threw my trash out the window when they rolled over. They got behind me and pulled me over."

I think I would call that racist.

The show would stay fresh with new material coming in every day.
Shit we could even expand it beyond constant barrage of black people getting screwed over to a wide range of good ole American racism.

All I need is a host and Fox's address.

  3. - Yea, crying wolf on race makes it harder to get the real shit noticed.

    - They'd have made Sean Bell look like shoulder graze if they started rapping NWA songs.
