It's an election year so you know all the snitching is going to be political until about mid-November.
The trail of who dropped the word on Mark Foley is a little unclear. It may have even been a Republican that put it all out there according to some stories.
Wikipedia says it goes a little something like this,

Whoever it was dropped a bomb in the Republican game that even the most hardcore Prius driving, non meat-eating, gay marrying, Michael Moore loving liberal couldn't have dreamt up.
As with any controversy the cover-up goes upward a few levels and might shake out some of the top Republican brass who were trying to get their Catholic on by covering up any traces of boy touching.
Silly Republicans.

I was on a site and some cats were trying to defend dude, by saying it wasn't really illegal and how it was just an attempt for democrats to try and oust another republican. Pretty sad when you defend a guy who might get popped under a law he helped pass.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to submit this person for snitch of the year. The Republicans are in a catch-22. Hastert resigns, you admit culpability. Blame the gays and you acknowledge homo-conservatives. That's a wrap for the House.
