Snitch of the Week: 4/1 - 4/7 (Student Loan Sharks)

It turns out this boring little story I peeped in the beginning of last week in the Times is now a pretty big deal.

It started off with the Attorney General of N.Y., Super Mario Cuomo investigating colleges that were allowing loan companies to answer financial aid calls from students so they could rip them off without a middle man.

Now there is word that Department of Education officials owned stock in student loan companies that they helped out while running the federal loan program.

Meanwhile over the last 5 years, Bush has cut the amount of the FREE money given away in Federal Pell Grants, which means more loans for yo broke ass.

What a coincidence.
